L’Homme Hanté (The Haunted Man) is an interactive digital installation, recreating the illusionist principle of the Pepper’s Ghost, used by Charles Dickens.
The installation consists of a bench, allowing us to sit down in front of the mirror. The trompe-l’oeil ghosts of the past, of whom we shall soon be a member, are sticking together in the space.
Thus, the public has to find his own place between bodies, build with them the space. This chimeric staging of the place of memory questions our report to the others and to the temporality.
This illusion reflects the image of a world, where it is necessary to compose with those who were and those who will follow us.
Others live in us, force us, make us creative : we are member of a creative process, of an inevitably incomplete project.
If we have to live with the others, we also have to create with them, realize their presence and come fruition.
